‘Drago’ Denies Roma
Roma’s search for a left-sided defender has become increasingly desperate after Sevilla’s Ivica Dragutinovic became the latest target to spurn their advances.

The Gialorossi are short on defensive cover for the left side following Christian Chivu’s acrimonious departure to Inter, leaving them with only one player in Max Tonetto who is capable of filling the role.   

Roma had hoped to have found their man in Ivica ‘Drago’ Dragutinovic, 32, but the Manchester City and Newcastle United target’s latest comments certainly suggest the opposite.   

“They wanted to sign me and thought that the simple mention of Roma would make me say yes. But I’m not 20 anymore,” he said.  “Roma is a great city, but I turned down their offer.”   

The Serie A runners up from last season are now likely to focus their attention on Reggina’s Francesco Modesto, after having already struck out in their attempts to lure Cicinho and Daniele Pradé.
